The White House specifically wanted a Samoan knife dancer in the entertainment line up and Tihati Productions will deliver.
Performers from Tihati Productions' Polynesian shows will be entertaining at a luau on the White House’s South Lawn Friday night. President Obama and the first family are expected to attend the picnic. The Obamas will join congressional delegations from the 50 states and their families in sampling island culture and feasting on a Hawai'i-inspired menu.
Papalii Tihati Thompson said, "When we received the call from the White House to inform us that we've been chosen to perform for the president, I wondered, 'How do they know about Tihati Productions? He said, "After celebrating 40 years in the entertainment business, the opportunity to perform at the White House is the ultimate."
His wife Cha Thompson said the White House specifically wanted a Samoan knife twirler. She said they will take six fire knife dancers who will do a pyramid formation.
