SPEX plane blows a tire while landing

The South Pacific Express Inc. Short 360 aircraft blew a tire as it made a landing at Pago Pago International Airport yesterday evening.  

Witnesses said the left rear  tires of the aircraft popped when the plane landed on runway 5 close to Fogagogo. The pilot brought the aircraft to a halt without incident and airport vehicles were dispatched to ferry the passengers and crew to the terminal building.  

There were 28 passengers and 3 crewmembers on the flight which landed shortly after 5pm.  The aircraft was cleared from the runway about an hour or so later.
