Man arrested for beating his girlfriend

A 23 year old man from Lauli'i appeared in District Court yesterday for assaulting his girlfriend.
The government alleges that during a drive, the victim told the defendant Feite Okesene she wanted to end their relationship. Court filings say that Okesene slapped the victim and pulled her out of the car.
The victim tried to escape but the defendant grabbed her and punched her in the face. She fell unconscious and when she came to, Okesene was wiping her face. He asked if she still wanted to have a relationship with him and when she replied no, he slapped her again. The victim managed to get away and immediately went to the police station to file a complaint.
