A Malaeloa resident who was charged with second-degree assault for allegedly injuring a man in the head has entered a plea agreement with the
government.
Clarence Sefuiva pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of third degree assault, a misdemeanor. Assistant Attorney General Lisa Johns told the court
that the victim in the case and feels the plea deal is fair.
Court filings say that Sefuiva and his friends were drinking and throwing empty beer bottles on the road. It's alleged that Sefuiva threw a beer bottle or rock and struck the victim in the head. The victim received cuts on his forehead and eye which required nine stitches.
Associate Justice Lyle Richmond accepted the plea agreement and scheduled sentencing for July 10th.
