Tools Incorporated Inc. or the Tool Shop is not letting the gloom and doom talk about the economy interfere with some of its long-term plans for expansion.
The company is going ahead with the construction of a new building which will be a show room, store and office. The building will be 10,000 square feet, single story and is estimated to cost $350,000.
Company president Peter Crispin said, "We have decided to go ahead with the new building and not be discouraged by all the talk about the downturn in the economy." He said, "We have to remain optimistic and we’ll see what the future holds."
The new building is being constructed next to the existing Tool Shop Store at the Industrial Park. The Tool Shop is doing most of the construction. Crispin said once the building is completed they will close their store across the road, which used to be the old Burns Philip hardware store.
Tool Shop was incorporated in 1978 and opened its first store in 1979. The plan is to have the new building completed by the end of September in time for the company’s 30th anniversary celebration.
