Fifty youngsters slept at the Utulei Beach fales last night as part of this year’s Le Tausagi summer camp.
The three day camp which kicked off yesterday gives the participants an appreciation of the sea and land. Activities include snorkeling, kayaking, movies about the environment, exercises and lessons on corals, fish and other sea creatures.
The Le Tausagi Camp is jointly organized by local and federal agencies with environment responsibilities. They include the Coastal Zone Management Program, Fagatele Bay, DMWR, EPA, Land Grant, the Coral Reef Advisory Group, National Park Service and NOAA.
The camp finishes tomorrow and organizers will hold a camp in Manua next week.
