Gov: Fiber optic cable will return investment

Governor Togiola Tulafono informed Fono leaders today that the briefing for Fono members on the fiber optic cable has been moved from Monday to Wednesday.
He said the briefing will be hosted by the American Samoa Hawaii Cable and his staff will also be on hand to answer questions. The governor said in a letter to House Speaker Savali Talavou Ale, the fiber optic progress is designed to provide ASG an actual return on its investment. He said this makes this project unique from all capital improvement projects that the territory has undertaken in recent memory. In addition, the great economic development potential and the certain boom in technologically advanced jobs that this initiative engenders will definitely have a positive impact on the economy.
