Monday, April 28, 2008

The leader of the Catholic Church in Samoa Archbishop Alapati Mataeliga issued a public apology on state television and radio last night for the destruction and injuries caused by students of a Catholic school last Friday.Police sources say the students were alleged to have been armed with sharp metals, iron bars and petrol bombs.

They fought against students of Avele College, a government school involved in another separate brawl in the previous week with St Joseph College another Catholic school.Meanwhile, the Prime Minister, Tuila’epa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi, will meet with college principals this morning to discuss a solution to stop further fights in town.
