Dr. Seth Galeai is new ASCC President

The Board of Higher Education has announced the new President of the American Samoa Community College.
The announcement was made by Board Chairman Uta Dr. Laloulu Tagoilelagi in the presence of other board members and ASCC faculty this morning.

The chairman said there were three applicants for the job but only two were interviewed. The third applicant submitted an incomplete application. Uta said the board was unanimous in its selection of Dr, Seth Galeai. Dr. Seth Galeai has been acting president of the college since July of last year. He said he was humbled by the appointment and asked for everyone’s cooperation in moving the college forward.

Dr. Galeai who has been on the ASCC staff for nearly 20 years has served as Vice President, Dean of Instructor and Director of the American Samoa Teacher Education Program at ASCC. He was principal of Samoana, Leone and Fagaitua High Schools. Dr. Galeai obtained his Bachelors, Master’s and Doctor of Education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He is a 1973 graduate of Samoana High School.
