Two high school students injured in stabbing

Monday, May 5, 2008

Two high schools students needed treatment for injuries from a machete attack Friday night in Leone.

Police are investigating the incident but initial reports indicate that it may have been a case of mistaken identity. The assailant has told police he mistakenly attacked the young men thinking they were the ones who beat him up the night before. When he saw the tow victims at the bus stop, he fetched a machete and struck them. One of the young men required 14 stitches for a deep cut to his arm and the other needed 8 stitches for a head injury. They were treated and released Friday. No arrest has been made in the case but a police report has been sent to the Attorney General’s Office.
