A man was arrested over the weekend for throwing beer bottles at a church in Malaeimi.
Police responded to a call from residents that a man was swearing and throwing beer bottles at the LDS chapel in Malaeimi Friday night. Vaa Matuatala had taken off when police arrived at the scene, but his attempt to escape proved futile. The cops nabbed him near Ace Hardware and took him to the Tafuna Correctional Facility where he spent the weekend. The defendant appeared in District Court yesterday charged with public peace disturbance.
